In order to encourage the up-and-coming international students to work hard, Hunan Provincial People’s Government set up Scholarship for International Students Studying in Hunan Province. Scholarship for International Students Studying in Hunan Province is an annual program which Department of Finance of Hunan Province includes in the budget of provincial level educational departments. Education Department of Hunan Province is responsible for its day-to-day management.
Coverage
    The scholarship applies to all the local colleges and universities with enrolment of international students in Hunan Province.
    This Scholarship grants all the international students (full-time undergraduate students, students for master’s or doctor’s degrees, language learner for credits in Hunan Province.
Basic Requirements
1. China-friendly applicants with a foreign nationality and a legal foreign passport;
2. Abidance by rules and regulations of the schools concerned and China’s laws.
3. A person of integrity and honor, of good moral cultivation and in good health.
4. Excellent in learning and hard-working.
Categories & Standard
Undergraduate students: RMB ￥15000/year
Students for a Master’s degree: RMB ￥20000/year
Students for a doctor’s degree: RMB ￥25000/year
Language learner for credits: RMB ￥6000/year
Procedure
    International students studying in the colleges or universities of Hunan Province shall apply to the host college or university and submit Application Form for Scholarship for International Students for Degree-study in Hunan Province annually and those qualified may apply for the scholarship successively.
    International learners for degree-study may apply to the host college or university for half-year language learner scholarship with submitted Application Form for Scholarship for International Students of Language Learners in Hunan Province.
Scholarship quota is issued to the colleges and universities concerned by Department of Finance of Hunan Province & Education Department of Hunan Province by the end of May each year according to the data of full-time international students at campus reported by the colleges and universities concerned.
    The list of the candidate for the scholarship shall be publicized at campus for no less than 5 working days and reported to Education Department of Hunan Province. Recipients of either Chinese Government Scholarship or of Confucius Institute Scholarship are not qualified for Scholarship for international students studying in Hunan Province.
    The Scholarship budget is issued by September each year to the colleges and universities concerned by Department of Finance of Hunan Province & Education Department of Hunan.
    The colleges and universities concerned shall wholesale the winners the scholarship and report the paper document and e-document of the scholarship winner list to Department of Finance of Hunan Province & Education Department of Hunan before October 30 each year.
