Scholarship

  • The Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship schemes to sponsor international students and scholars to undertake studies and research in Chinese institutions of higher education.

    The Ministry of Education of P. R. China (MOE) is responsible for the provision of Chinese government scholarships, and entrusts China Scholarship Council (CSC) to administer the recruitment of international students and the routine management of Chinese Government Scholarship Programs.

    International students under Chinese Government Scholarship Programs will be placed in Chinese institutions of higher education designated by the MOE. There are over 300 subjects in science, technology, agronomy, medicine, economics, law, management, education, history, liberal arts and philosophy available for international students attending these institutions.

    We welcome outstanding students, scholars and teachers from all over the world to come to study or undertake research in institutions of higher education in China.

    THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS AND APPLICATIONS

    The Chinese Government Scholarship Scheme: Established by the MOE in accordance with educational exchange agreements or MOUs reached by the Chinese government and governments of other countries or international organizations, it provides both full and partial scholarships for international students and scholars. The scheme helps students to study in China as undergraduates, postgraduates, Chinese language students, visiting scholars and senior visiting scholars. Applicants may apply for scholarship through education authorities, designated institutions or Chinese diplomatic missions in their home countries.

    DETAILS OF THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
    I. Scholarship Covering:
    1. Full scholarship: A Chinese government full scholarship covers tuition (or research) fees, Medical Insurance for International Students, accommodation, Stipend
    2. Partial scholarship: One or some items of the full scholarship.
    3. International air travel: Applicants are expected to meet their own international travel costs unless there are bilateral agreements or arrangements.

    II. Application Approach and Recruitment Time
    The period for recruiting international student under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program is normally from the beginning of January to the end of April. Details on application procedures are determined by the consultation between Chinese diplomatic missions and the relevant authorities in the applicants' home country. Applicants may contact the relevant authorities or Chinese diplomatic missions in their home countries for details.

    III. Scholarship Applications 
    Applicants should meet the basic qualifications prescribed in the Application Procedures, and must fill in the application forms correctly as required. They also need to provide relevant application documents including notarized photocopies of diplomas, transcripts, study plans, health certificates and recommendation letters. Application documents for scholarships must reach the CSC before the deadline as specified in the Application Procedures via their Embassies in China or Chinese diplomatic missions in the applicants' home country. Application documents which arrive after the deadline will not be accepted. Please refer to the attached Application Procedures for details.

    Application documents will not be returned whether the applicants are admitted by Chinese institutions or not. Documents such as original diplomas and original Foreigner Physical Examination Form must NOT be sent as application documents.

    IV. Selection of Higher Education Institutions and Specialties
    Applicants for Chinese Government Scholarships must choose their host institutions and specialties from the institutions of higher education designated by the Ministry of Education of China. Please check the Directory of Chinese Institutions Admitting International Students under the Chinese Government Scholarship Programme or the website of CSCfor details.

    V. Language of Instruction
    The Chinese institutions of higher education generally use Chinese as the language of instruction. Applicants with no command of Chinese are generally required to take Chinese language courses for 1-2 years before pursuing their major studies. In some institutions, some courses set for visiting, senior visiting sholars and postgraduate students can be conducted in English.   • In order to drive enthusiasm and study initiative, encourage and support excellence in conduct and academy, create a good study atmosphere and drive diligent study, Shenyang Aerospace University hereby formulates this Outstanding/distinguished International Student's Scholarship Procedures.
    1. Conditions for Application
    I. Applicants shall be normal self-sponsored international students; registered for an undergraduate or postgraduate program for one (1) year or above and haven’t applied for temporary leave or extension of study;
    II. Applicants shall observe and abide by every law of China, school rules and regulations, and not have any record of violation;
    III. Applicants shall respect the authority, love the school, respect other foreign students, be friendly and positively participate in school organized activities;
    IV. Applicants shall possess honest code of honor, be excellent in quality and have comprehensively good behavior synthesis evaluation;
    V. Applicants shall be upright in study, diligent and have an outstanding academic record for the previous semester.
    (a)First Prize Scholarship applicants shall have a minimum average of 85% with scores from each course not less than 80 marks;
    (b) Second Prize Scholarship applicants shall have a minimum average of 80% with scores from each course not less than 75 marks;
    (c) Third Prize Scholarship applicants shall have a minimum of 70 marks in every course.
    (d) Single Item Scholarship applicants shall have a minimum of 65 marks in all courses.

    2. Award Establishment
    The University sets apart 5% of the total international students’ fee every year for the Outstanding International Students’ Scholarship.
    (a) First Prize, RMB300 per month, awarded to 5% of the total number of students;
    (b) Second Prize, RMB200 per month, awarded to 10% of the total number of students;
    (c) Third Prize, RMB150 per month, awarded to 40% of the total number of students.
    Single Item Scholarship :
    (i) Outstanding Class Cadre Prize, RMB100 per month
    (ii) Progressive Study Prize, RMB100 per month 
    (iii) Technological Activity Prize, RMB100 per month 
    (iv) Outstanding Literature Prize, RMB100 per month
    (v) Outstanding Social Activity Prize, RMB50 per month
    (vi) Full Attendance Award, RMB50 per month
    The comprehensive scholarship prize and the single item scholarship may be awarded concurrently.
    3. Evaluation procedures
    The university establishes an International Students’ Scholarship Appraisal Committee. The committee is to be composed of the related school leaderships and the secondary units in charge; the international student office is responsible for the concrete details.
    At the beginning of each semester, international students who meet the conditions for the scholarship should submit written application to the international students’ office 
    Based on the international student’s application, academic record and daily behavior performance (academic record 75%, daily behavior performance 25%), initial comments shall be made by the international students’ office organization, initial comments shall include class and grade evaluation, teacher evaluation and other procedures. 
    The international students’ office will compose the names of the applicants meeting the necessary condition, then report to the international students’ scholarship appraisal committee for consideration in the scheduled time then finally determine the scholarship students’ name list.
    The Scholarship evaluation result shall be published on the international students’ office website.

    4. Scholarship distribution procedure
    The scholarship adopts a monthly distribution method; the international students’ office shall go through the distribution procedure before the 15th of every month.
