The Northeast Forestry University’s Chinese Language and Chinese Culture Courses can be divided into long-term, short-term, and one-to-one programs.

1. Long-term Chinese Language Education Program:

(1) Application Deadline:

Spring Semsester: End of December.

Fall Semsester: End of June.

(2) Duration of graduation for studyingChinese:

Spring Semester: The beginning of March to the end of June.

Fall Semester: Early September to late December.

(3) Entry Fee: RMB 400 Yuan.

(4) Tuition Fee: 6800 Yuan/semester, 12600 Yuan/year.

(5) Books And School Supplies: Personal expenses.

(6) Classes:Foreign students without Chinese knowledge may directly enter into the beginning classes; other foreign students can enter different levels of Chinese classes based on the test result for the corresponding classes. The duration of the courses is 16 weeks per semester, and language lessons are 14 hours per week. The language practice class lasts for 2 hours. The Chinese Culture Experience (elective) courses are between 2 and 6 school hours and students can take special courses according to their own interests. Foreign students, after the assessment of student academic affairs office, can apply to take international courses taught in English.

(7) Courses:

Primary stage (HSK1-3 grade level): Main courses include Oral Chinese, Chinese Listening, Comprehensive Chinese, etc.

Intermediate stage (HSK4-5 grade level): Main courses include Comprehensive Chinese, Reading and Writing, and Comprehensive HSK.

Advanced stage (HSK6 grade level):Main courses include Intensive Reading and Writing, Chinese and other high-level synthesis courses.

2. Short-Term Chinese Language Training Program

Northeast Forestry University accepts groups of 10 or more people with the same level of Chinese to study Chinese language and culture. The classes can be separated into different classes specifically designed to the requirements of the student groups, such as class-based language classes, cultural lectures, or class-based language classes, and tours to enrich the learning experience etc.

Short-term Chinese language and cultural experience courses tuition will be subject to the trainee’s numbers, teaching time, and curriculum arrangement. The community needs to apply three months in advance in a written application to Northeast Forestry University if they want to attend this type of course.

In addition to groups of short-term Chinese language and culture students, Northeast Forestry University also accepts individual student's learning applications with costs to be subject to teaching time and curriculum arrangements. Students need to submit a written application to NEFU three months in advance.

Registration Fee: 400 Yuan / Person

Tuition fees, books, school supplies and other expenses will be decided after consultation because the prices of different programs vary.

3. One-to-one Chinese language training programs

One-to-one Chinese language training programs are set up for students with special learning requirements. NEFU offers one-to-one classes, and students can submit a written application three months in advance. We will arrange the courses according to the specific requirements of our students.

Registration Fee: 400 Yuan / person

Tuition fees, books, school supplies and other expenses subject to the length and level of the course.

Application Requirements

All people (between 18 - 65 years old) in good health, holding a valid passport, even with no previous Chinese language experience, can apply.

Applicants need to provide the following materials:
