Hunan University of Humanities, Science and Technology (HUHST), founded in 1978, is a state-owned provincial university of higher education approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education. It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. HUHST is located in Loudi, the center of Hunan province. With its beautiful scenery, pleasant climate, rich resources, and convenient transportation, Loudi has acquired a reputation as a Botanical Garden City and one of the most livable cities in China.
HUHST possesses 16 faculties with 39 disciplines, covering eight comprehensive academic fields, namely Art, Science, Technology, Education, Economy, Management, Law and Agriculture. It has 8 key disciplines and distinctive courses at provincial and national level, and 80 provincial or national centers of various kinds ranging from research, and university-industry cooperative research to teaching practices. HUHST has a complete variety of facilities as well as competent teachers. Of its 1137 staff members, there are 77 professors. Currently, some 15,000 students are studying at HUHST.
The university has its own advantage in scientific research. The teachers have been in charge of 815 research projects of various levels. 11 national patents, two national achievements in scientific research, and 129 other achievements in teaching, social science, and technology have been obtained.
In recent years, HUHST has placed great emphasis on international exchanges and cooperation. The university has established partnerships in the fields of teaching, academic research and student education with many universities around the world, which include United States, United Kingdom, Australia ,New Zealand ,Thailand, South Korea，India. All international students will be arranged into small classes (no more than 20 students in each class). The lectures are experienced with respectful qualifications. At least one tutor or study partner will accompany with the international students at all time to help them solve problems in study and life.
