I. Program Category and Admission Category

(1) Program Category: Chinese Government Scholarship - Chinese University Program (Program Category Type B.

(2) Admission Category: Full-time Master Degree Programs and PhD. Degree Programs.

II. Application Requirements

(1) The applicants must be Non-Chinese citizens in good health condition, with their nationalities citizenship exist longer than six years. The planned enrolment quota of Chinese Government Scholarship can only be provided to new students, students who are currently studying in China can not apply for this scholarship.

(2) Requirements on applicants' education background and age:

Master's degree program applicants should hold a Bachelor's Degree, and under 35 years old. PhD. degree program applicants must hold a Master's Degree and  under 40 years old.

III. Application Procedure

Applicants are required to complete both of the on-line procedures as well as mail the hard-copy application materials to Yunnan University. Please mail the following hard-copy materials to the office of international relations, School of International Education, Yunnan University before 25th March, 2019. Late applications are not acceptable.

1.Applicants should fill in the application form in Chinese or English (Agency Number of Yunnan University is 10673, Program Category is B) submit the form online to complete the online application. then, download and print it.

2.Hard-copy materials package(three copies for each item).

(1) Signed copy of the application form (see above);

(2) Photocopy of the Passport information page;

(3) Copy of the applicant's highest academic degree certificate notarized by a public notary. Those who are currently studying in a college or university are required to provide certification of their student status (provided by the college or university). Those who are employed after graduation are required to provide certification of their employment status (provided by their employer). Certificates/certifications written in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized Chinese or English Version;

(4) Study or research plan in English or Chinese (800 words or above);

(5) Two recommendation letters in Chinese or English;

(6) Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form(please only hand in a photocopy and keep the original version with you). This form is released by China's quarantine authority. The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months;

(7) A CD of your own works (only required for arts students);

Applicants for music studies are requested to submit a CD of their own musical works. Applicants for the fine arts programs must submit a CD of their own works which include two sketches, two color paintings and two other works.

(8) The copy of valid HSK Certificate (if available).

Notes: Please bind all the required materials on top left in the listed order a) to h). THREE sets of bound materials should be submitted. YNU will not return any submitted materials regardless the final admission condition.

IV. Admission and Notification

1.After assessment by experts from Yunnan University, the documents of qualified applicants will be delivered to the Education Department of Yunnan Province and National CSC, it is a merit-based enrollment.

2.YNU will mail the offer letters, Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201 Form), and Registration Guide to scholarship recipient at the beginning of July.

3. Each applicant could only receive one scholarship supported by the CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. If an applicant is recruited by more than one university, National CSC will reserve only one university's scholarship qualification for this applicant.

4.Scholarship recipients shall not change their host university, field of study, or duration of study unless they give up the grant.

5.Scholarship will not be reserved if its recipient cannot register before the registration deadline.

Yunnan University Admission for Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship Program

Admission Category

Full-time Degree Students (Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD. Degree) and Scholars in Chinese Language.

Admission Country

Mainly opening to South Asia and Southeast Asia countries, applicants from other countries are also welcome.

I.Application Requirements

1.Non-Chinese and being in good health.

2.Bachelor’s degree program applicants must hold High School Graduation Certification and be under the age of 25.

3. Master’s degree program applicants must hold Bachelor’s Degree and be under the age of 35.

4. PhD. degree program applicants must hold Master’s Degree and be under the age of 40.

5. Applicants for Scholars in Chinese Language should hold High School Graduation Certification, and be under the age of 35.

6. Abachelor’s degree candidate’s Chinese should meets HSK level4.

7. A master's degreeanddoctoral degree candidate’s Chinese should meets HSK level5.

IV. Application Procedure

1.Applicants should complete the Application Form of Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship Program.

2. Please mail the hard-copy materials to the office of international relations, School of International Education, Yunnan University before 1st April, 2019. Late applications are notacceptable.

V. Application Materials

1.The original copy and photocopy of Application Form of Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship Program,complete in Chinese or English.

2. Copy of the applicant's highest academic degree certificate notarized by a public notary. Those who are currently studying in a college or university are required to provide certification of their student status (provided by the college or university). Those who are employed after graduation are required to provide certification of their employment status (provided by their employer). Certificates/certifications written in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized Chinese or English Version.

3. Photocopy of valid HSK transcript.

4. Photocopy of the High School Graduate Test transcript (for those apply for undergraduate courses) or academic transcript (for students apply for other categories),notarized by a public notary.Materials written in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized Chinese or English Version.

5.Study or research plan written in English or Chinese (300 words or above for Bachelor’s Degree applicants, 400 words or above for Master’s Degree applicants, 500 words or above for PhD. Degree applicants).

6. Two Recommendation Letters(written in Chinese or English). Applicants must submit two recommendation letters signed by professor or associate professor.

7. Admission offer letter of Yunnan University. If the applicants are currently studying in China.

IV. Applicants Qualifications

1.Having goodmoralcharacters, obeying Chinese laws, observing Yunnan University's regulations, and respecting Chinese customs and public morals.

2. Between 18to 25years old. 

3.Health condition meets the requirement of "Health Examination Standards for Foreign Students" issued by the Chinese Ministry of Education.

4. Students applying for undergraduate courses need to meet the following requirements:

(1) Students have obtained the graduation certificate of senior high school or above;

(2)High school English scores should be 70 or above.

V. Application Methods

1. Application Procedure

(1) Students who intend to study in China through exchange plans made by the two universities or other institutions of the two countries should apply according to the agreements;

(2) Students who stay in China or abroad and meet the qualification of application can apply online

2. Application materials:

(1) Notarized copy of graduate certification from senior high school. A certificate of expected graduation should be provided if the student is studying in high school and has not been awarded the graduation certificate yet.

(2)High school academic transcripts.

(3)Photocopy of a valid passport(information page).

(4)Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form(written in English).

(5)Copy of HSK level certificate.(6) Other documents which may support your application, such as award-winning certificates and recommendation letters. These documents are not required but can help you be given appropriate priority of consideration.

Notification:  (1) Students should hand in clear enough electronic scanned version of all the listed materials.   (2) Notarized translation must be provided if any of the documentslistedabove are not in Chinese or in English.VI. Applicationdeadline Before 20th June each year.  

VII. Admission

1. After assessment by experts fromSchool of International Education, Yunnan University, the documents of qualified applicants will be delivered to the related offices of Yunnan University. Candidates will be selected according to their overall excellence.

2.Admission Offer letter, Visa Application for Study in China (JW202Form),and Registration Guide will be mailed to scholarship recipientat the beginning of July.

3. Scholarship recipients shall not change their field of study, or duration of study unless they give up the grant.

4. Scholarship will not be reserved if scholarship recipient cannot register before the registration deadline.

VIII.Registration

International students who are admitted need to bring their passport,admission offer letter, and JW202form to apply for their student visa.Students can refer to the "Admission Notice" for the registration time and requirements. Freshmen need to provide the materials listed above to the international students service office，School of International Education, Yunnan University when conducting registration.Students who areunable to complete registration due to any reason need to ask for leaving at School of International Education in written form. Ifstudent does not register for over two weeks without any explanation,then the  admission qualification as well as the scholarship will be canceled.

1. The International Students Office is responsible for the routine management of international students.

2.All the fees related to applying for studying in China should be paid by the students themselves.
