Enrollment Tips

1. Register

①Register Site: Foreign teacher and International Student Administration Center, 32 Building, International College, International Student Dorm, D-Region, Guilin University of Electronic Technology (hereinafter referred to as International Student Administration Center)

②Material Requested: Admission Notice, Visa Application for Study in China(JW201/202 form), Passport and its copy, 6 personal photos（2.5 cm×3.5 cm) and register fees (300.00 RMB).

2. Payment

Self-Supporting students should bring passport to the International Student Administration Center and pay tuition fees, keeping the receipt as the voucher. You should pay all your fees within 60 days, or else you will be dismissed from school.

Payment: Students are required to pay the fees to Xie Linhong and Xiao Linyue. Do not pay the fees to any other persons but Xie or Xiao.

3. Accommodation

After registering, you should sign an agreement with the Accommodation Management Center. Students awarded the scholarship shall check-in with the Accommodation Certification of scholarship-holder-student. Self-Supporting students should pay Accommodation Fees on time.

4. Physical Examination and Certificate of Health Examination

1. All the new International students should go to the Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine of Guilin, Guangxi, to do the physical examination and apply for the Certificate of Health Examination within one week after registration.

2. Materials for Physical Examination: Passport, 2 personal photos（3.5 cm×4.5 cm) and Physical examination fee (< ="300" rmb)

5. Apply for the Residence Visa

①All the new International students should apply for a residence visa within 30 days after entering China.

②Materials Requested: 2 personal photos (3.5cm*4.5cm), Passport (copies of its first page and the newest visa), Visa Application for Study in China (JW201/202 form), Admission Notice, a Certificate of Health Examination from the Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine of Guilin, Immigration Temporary Accommodation Registration Form, foreigner visa, Application form for residence visa, conversation record of permitting Residence and certificate from International Student Administration Center.

③Fees (RMB): for one year residence visa 400.00 RMB, for temporary visa (30 days) 160.00 RMB.

6. Food

You can pay 20 RMB to buy a student card then you can use it to buy anything in the shops or canteens.

7. Hospitalization Insurance

①According to the policy by the Ministry of education of China, all the International Students must buy the medical insurance in China to pay for the accidental injury treatment fees and hospitalization expenses for the critical illness, and support the emergency aid.

②The Ministry of Education of China would recommend the group insurance —“Comprehensive Insurance Plan for Foreigners”of the Ping An insurance company for you, its fees are 800.00 RMB/year, 400.00RMB half a year. It covers all the public hospitals in China (except for the hospitals in Hong Kong and Macao regions) for the accidental injury treatment fees and hospitalization expenses for the critical illness, and support the emergency aid.

③Students can pay the insurance fees to the International Student Administration and the center will help you to buy the insurance. You cannot register without the insurance.

PS: You must choose a public hospital in China (except for the hospitals in Hong Kong and Macao regions) for your medical treatment and make sure the treatments belongs to the Chinese public health project.

Steps to Apply for a New Visa

1. International students take the Admission notice, JW202 forms(the first page) and several relative certifications (offered by students) to the Chinese Embassy in their countries to apply a Tourist Visa (L visa, within 15 days)or a student visa (X1 visa, within 30 days).

2. After applying for a visa successfully, please tell us the date and time you arrive, we would pick you up at the airport or train station.

3. When you arrive the school, please pay off your tuition and accommodation fees and then submit your passport we will help you to prepare the materials to apply for a Residence visa.

4. Medical examination. Take your passport and 2 photos to do medical examination in the Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine of Guilin. After one week you can get the Certificate of Health Examination. If you are the first time to apply for a Residence visa in Guilin you must submit the Certification.

   5. Information registration. To apply for the visa, you need to fill in the relative information about international students in the pre-declaration system and accommodation check-in system of UI; and then upload all the data to the website of Guilin Administration of Foreigners.

   6. After getting the Certificate of Health Examination, you can prepare the relative files (application form, passport and copies of relative passport information, 202 form, approved document and its copy, studying certificate and Admission Notice, filing certificate, Certificate of Health Examination and its copy) and then apply for the residence permit visa (generally 1 year valid) in the Entry and Exit Administration Bureau.

   7. After getting the residence visa and its return receipt, you can get the passport in 3 weeks by showing the return receipt or in 10 days by showing the residence visa. If students need to leave Guilin before getting passport, they can buy railway tickets by showing the return receipt but they can’t buy the airplane tickets or use in the bank.

   8. After getting the passport, the student passport will be returned when the visa transaction is finished.
