Training Program for Postgraduates of Cross-cultural Communication and Management

1. Training Objectives

For the students major in "Cross-cultural Communication and Management", we aim at cultivating high-level specialized talents in applied international cultural communication and management with rigorous scholarship and noble business ethics. They have a systematic and solid foundation of theoretical knowledge of "management science and engineering", possess the relevant knowledge and skills of cultural communication studies, have an international perspective and intercultural communication skills, innovative capabilities and international project management skills, can solve the practical problems that arise in cross-cultural communication planning and management, are competent of modern cross-cultural communication and management, possess a forward-looking, strategic thinking and a high English level, and can manage in management in cultural communication departments, enterprises and institutions concerned with foreign affairs.

3. Training Methods

1). Full-time students of academic graduate must complete all kinds of courses and training links stipulated in the training program of this major and obtain a total credit of not less than 32 credits, of which no less than 21 credits are required for the degree program. The required courses include literature review and so on.

2). Credit system is carried out for the full-time students of academic degree. Supervisor are responsible for training programs to guide graduate students to develop personal training plan and course selection.

3). The supervisor group (or supervisor) are responsible for the research and thesis work of graduate students. Principally, the collective training mode of supervisor group should be formed. Strive to achieve the combination of theory and practice of course study and scientific research work.

5. Thesis

The thesis work can make graduate students receive basic training comprehensively in the fields of scientific research. It is expected to develop the students’ abilities in literature review, engineering design, experiment, data analysis and data processing, logical reasoning and writing and other aspects to make them engage in scientific research or independent undertaking technical work.

After the completion of the thesis, the thesis review, thesis defense and degree awarding may be carried out according to the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the Degree Regulations and the Provisional Regulations on the Grant of Master's Degree in Guilin University of Electronic Technology.

Mechatronic Engineering

  1. Training Objectives

    This major is a comprehensive course, combined by optics, mechanics, electronics and liquid, composed of machinery, optical technology and information technology. It is the foundation of many high-tech industries and high-tech equipment. It aims to cultivate inter-disciplinary talents mastering theoretical knowledge and practical abilities of optics, mechanics, electronics, liquid, control and computer, and can be engaged in the design, research and operation management of optical, mechanical, electrical equipment and products that meet the demand of regional economy and industry development.

  2. Training Requirements

    The students mainly study the basic theoretical knowledge of Mechatronic Engineering, including the basic knowledge of mechanical, electronic, engineering optics, control engineering and computer technology; accept the professional training for modern mechanical and electrical engineers, and have the ability in design and development of light, machine and electrical products, equipment testing and control, equipment operation and management.

Civil Engineering

1. Training Objectives

We aim to cultivate the personnel that master the basic principles and knowledge of civil engineering; feel up to various types of work in technology and management in the field of civil engineering; have a solid foundation in theory, broad professional knowledge and strong practical ability in engineering; and are future-oriented.

2. Training Requirements

The students mainly study basic theories and knowledge in mechanics, structure, construction, engineering management and economics. They are expected to accept basic training in mechanical analysis, structural design, construction technology and project management, text drawings and other aspects, and master basic capabilities in project survey, design, construction, management, education, investment and development of civil engineering .

Main Disciplines: Mechanics, Civil Engineering
