Courses for students obtaining Chinese Government Scholarship are generally taught in Chinese. Students, unless their schools and supervisors provide courses taught in English, are required to take one-year preparatory Chinese language courses before major study. Duration for scholarship could NOT be extended unless the students make written application upon unavoidable reasons.

• Qualifications of Applicants 

1. Applicants shall be in good health and non-Chinese citizens.

2. Education background and age limit:

- Applicants for master studies must have bachelor’s degree and should be under the age of 35.

- Applicants for Doctorate studies must have master’s degree and should be under the age of 40.

1. Free charge of application fee, tuition and dorms on campus.

2. Stipend

Master students: RMB 3000 yuan per month, Doctoral students: RMB 3500 yuan per month.

CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIP

Qualification of applicants 

1. For applicants of MTCSL, the grades for HSK 5 should be more than 180 and HSKK medium 50.

2. Applicants of one-year language study+MTCSL should provide the agreement signed with the Confucius Institute or contract with the employer. The grades for HSK 3 should be more than 180 and HSKK beginner 60.

3. Applicants of one-year language study should grade more than 180 in HSK 3 and 60 in HSKK beginner, or study at the Confucius Institute for more than 120 hours.

4. Applicants of one-year language study should grade more than 120 in HSK 2 and 40 in HSKK beginner, or study at the Confucius Institute for more than 60 hours.

5. Applicants of four-week language study should be the students in the Confucius Institute and class, outstanding sitters in the HSK or BCT tests or premium members of the Journal Confucius Institute’s reader club. Applicants should provide the transcript for HSK or BCT tests and should be without any experience of studying in China.   

6. The age limit of average applicants should be from 16 to 35, while for Chinese teachers, the limit can be up to 45.

7. The applicants who have been awarded with the Certificate of Confucius Institute Scholarship in the Chinese Bridge Contest can directly get admitted by the university.

Content of scholarship

1. The university will provide free accommodation(twin room as usual). Students can also apply for living off campus with the monthly housing allowance of RMB 700 yuan which will be given by month or quarter.

2. The monthly living allowance for undergraduates, one-year and one-semester language students is RMB 2500, and for MTCSL candidates RMB 3000 yuan.

3. The university will buy comprehensive medical insurance valued RMB 800 yuan for the students.

4. Students registered before 15th of the month will get the full monthly living allowance, while the ones registered after 15th should be given half of the monthly allowance. The allowance will be provided until 30 days after the graduation.The scholarship will be suspended if the students suspend or quit their study for personal reasons.

5. All the degree students should be annually assessed. Students with good performance in study or HSK test will enjoy full scholarship for the coming academic year; Students who meet the average standard will receive partial scholarship; the scholarship will be suspended for students failing the assessment.

Enrollment

1. Application will be processed by the Headquarter of the Confucius institutes. Guangxi University will make a list of the enrolled candidates and submit it to the Headquarter.

2. The Headquarter will issue the Certificates of the Confucius Institute Scholarship and send it to the Guangxi University.

3. The University will need confirmation from the candidates before sending the Admission Letter, Application Form for student visa (JW 202) along with the Certificates of the Confucius Institute Scholarship to the scholarship awardees.

FOR ASEAN STUDENTS

ASEAN nations, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia.

• Qualification of applicants 

1. Applicants shall be ASEAN citizens with good health condition

2. Applicants shall respect China and its laws and policy.

3. Applicants shall well behave as diligent students with good grades.

4. Applicants shall not simultaneously accept other types of scholarships provided by Chinese government.

• Content of scholarship

Scholarship awardees will be free of the charges of registration fee, tuition, textbooks and accommodation and will enjoy free insurance for major illnesses and accidents. Doctoral candidates will receive a monthly stipend of RMB 2000 yuan, Master candidates RMB 1500 yuan, undergraduates RMB 1000 yuan and language students RMB 500 yuan. The stipend will be given by 12 months each year.

1.     Applicants must be in good health should be non-Chinese citizens.

2.     Applicants must have a master’s degree and should be under the age of 45. Fresh graduates of master degree should submit Certificate of Master’s Degree or Certificate of thesis defense before entering Guangxi University.

3.     Applicants, who master Chinese or English, have background of studying in China or come from English-speaking countries are given priority to be enrolled.
