CSC - Chinese Government Scholarship

In order to promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in various fields between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students to study and conduct research in Chinese universities.

China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, is responsible for the enrollment and the administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs.

Shanghai Ocean University is one of the Chinese leading universities where offers a wide variety of academic programs in science, engineering, agriculture, economics, legal studies, management for scholarship recipients at all levels.

This is a full scholarship to recruit outstanding international students for undergraduate and graduatestudies in China.

1. Supporting Categories

Chinese Government Scholarship programs sponsor international student to undertake degree studies including Bachelor, Master and PhD studies in China.

2. Duration

Chinese Government Scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language (preparatory) study.

3. Instruction Language

(1) Undergraduate scholarship recipients must register for Chinese-taught credit courses. Scholarship recipients of Chinese-taught programs without HSK 4 Certificate can apply to take one-year preparatory courses and to pass the required test before moving on to their major studies.Failure to reach the required language proficiency will lead to the automatic termination of scholarship.

(2) Graduate students can register for either the Chinese-taught program or the English-taught program. Scholarship recipients of Chinese-taught programs without HSK 5 Certificate can apply to take Chinese language courses for one academic year to reach the language requirements  before moving on to their major studies. Failure to reach the required language proficiency will lead to the automatic termination of scholarship.

(3) Stipend:

l Undergraduate students: CNY 2,500 per month;

l Master’s students: CNY 3,000 per month;

l Doctoral students: CNY 3,500 per month.

SGS -Shanghai Government Scholarship

For the purpose of constructing the science and technology innovation center with global influence, promoting the international cooperation and communication, and attracting more outstanding prospective international students to study in Shanghai, Shanghai Municipal People's Government has set up “Shanghai Government Scholarship for International Students” (hereinafter referred to SGS) since 2006. It is established to fund distinctive prospective international students to study in higher educational institutions in Shanghai.
1.COVERAGE AND DETAILS

Shanghai Government Scholarship is classified into A and B types.

Type A (Full scholarship): covers tuition, expenses for accommodation and stipend, and medical insurance during the corresponding study period. It’s established to fund excellent prospective students applying for postgraduate, undergraduate and pre-college programs.

(3) Stipend:

l Undergraduate students: CNY 2,500 per month;

l Master’s students: CNY 3,000 per month;

l Doctoral students: CNY 3,500 per month.

Type B (Partial scholarship): covers tuition and medical insurance during the corresponding study period. It’s established to fund excellent prospective students applying for postgraduate and undergraduate programs.

SHOU-PS:Shanghai Ocean University President’s Scholarship

As one of China’s leading universities and a member of the national level “Double First-Class” initiative, to attract exceptional international students, SHOU provides its own “Shanghai Ocean University President’s Scholarship”(referred to asSHOU-PS) to those students willing to pursue degree programs.

1. COVERAGE AND DETAILS

Shanghai Ocean University President’s Scholarship is classified into A, B and C types.

Type A (Full scholarship): covers tuition, expenses for accommodation and stipend, and medical insurance during the corresponding study period. It’s established to fund excellent prospective students applying for Doctoral Degree programs.

(2) Free Double room accommodation in International Student Apartment No.1 or No.2

(3) Stipend:

l Undergraduate students: CNY 500 per month;

l Master’s students: CNY800 per month;

l Doctoral students: CNY1,000 per month.

(4) Comprehensive medical insurance

Type B (Partial scholarship): covers tuition during the corresponding study period. It’s established to fund excellent prospective students applying for postgraduate and undergraduate programs.

TypeC (Partial scholarship): covers 50% tuition during the corresponding study period. It’s established to fund excellent prospective students applying for postgraduate and undergraduate programs.
