Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DUFL), located in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian, is under the jurisdiction of Liaoning 
Provincial Government. DUFL currently has 20 faculties and departments, offering 33 undergraduate programs, 25 graduate programs 
and 1 doctoral program. We have a total of 20,000 students, including master’s degree candidates, undergraduates, and international students 
as well as short-term trainees. Established in 1964 by the name of Dalian School of Japanese Language under the patronage 
of the late Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai, DUFL is the only university in northeast China conducting a comprehensive range of language-related programs. It was renamed as Dalian University of Foreign Languages in 1978. Since its commencement, great importance has
 been attached to international exchange and cooperation. By 2012, the university had forged partnerships with more than 180 universities 
and institutions in 30 countries such as the USA, UK, Russia, Japan, Korea, Canada and Italy. It boasts of its popularity as one of the
 institutions for the Exchange of university teachers and students between Hong Kong and mainland China and houses the National Multilingual 
Base for International  Promotion of Chinese Language, the Sino-Russian Student Exchange Base of the Ministry of Education, Chairman 
Office of Chinese presidential committee of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the first Education Demonstration Base in Liaoning 
Province for Foreign Students. It is also designated to take in international students sponsored by the Chinese Government Scholarship, 
Confucius Institute Scholarship, Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship and Dalian Municipal Government Scholarship. Over the years, 
DUFL has been entrusted to set up 8 overseas Confucius institutes in Russia, Japan, Korea, Colombia, Brazil, Guyana, Armenia, and 
Portugal respectively.
