In order to attract outstanding foreign students to study in our university, to further promote the quality of international students' education and constantly improve their international influence and competitiveness. According to the "Strategic Plan of Action for Internationalization of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) 2013-2020) "," China University of Petroleum (Beijing) Improving the Quality of Education for International Students "and" Improving the Quality of Postgraduate Education for Researchers at China University of Petroleum (Beijing) " China University of Petroleum Scholarship has been set up.

Scholarship coverage

CUPB-First Class

1. Exempt from paying all tuition fees

2. Accommodation provided (Double Room)

3. Monthly allowance for 10 months in a year:

    Bachelors Student:1800 RMB/Month

    Masters Student:2000 RMB/Month

    Doctorate student:2500 RMB/Month

    Exchange student:2000 RMB/Month

Application  and review requirements

1. Not a citizen of The Peoples Republic of China in good health and No Criminal Record.

2. Meet admission requirements of China University of PetroleumWith GPA≧3.0/5.0 for bachelors and an average of 85% for postgraduate students

3. Applicants applying for the Chinese taught programs should have the appropriate Chinese language proficiency and provide relevant proof. Applicants whose native language is not English and are applying for the English taught programs should meet the following criteria: IELTS ≧ 6.5, TOEFL ≧ 80 ( undergraduate or postgraduate Students who have studied in English for two years or more during their study experience may also submit official certificates issued by schools instead of IELTS or TOEFL scores); Students who are from native English speaking countries or where English is the official language are encouraged to apply for English taught programs.

Scholarship introduction

Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students (BGS) is launched by Government of Beijing and the scheme supports outstanding international students who are studying or going to study in Beijing.

 

Scholarship coverage

Beijing Government Scholarship - First Class

Students with this scholarship pay only CNY5,000/year as tuition

This Scholarship category DOES NOT include monthly allowance, Comprehensive medical insurance, and accommodation

 

Beijing Government Scholarship -Second Class

Students with this scholarship pay half the tuition:

Bachelor: CNY 13000/year

Master:CNY 15000/year

Doctor: CNY 18000/year

Scholarship introduction

In order to promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in various fields between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese universities. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as MOE), is responsible for the enrollment and the administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs. Now, 279 designated Chinese universities offer a wide variety of academic programs in Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Economics, Legal Studies, Management, Education, History, Literature, Philosophy, and Fine Arts for scholarship recipients at all levels.

Scholarshipcoverage

1. Full Scholarship covers

Tuition waiver. Tuition funds will be comprehensively used by the host university. It may cover scholarship students’ education, administration costs and expenditures to support student activities.

If the host university requires students to live on campus, the university will accommodate the scholarship students in a university dormitory (usually a twin room).

If the host university permits students to live off campus, the university will provide monthly/quarterly accommodation subsidy:Undergraduate students (Language preparation), Master’s students (general scholars): CNY 700 per month;Doctoral students (senior scholars): CNY 1000 per month.
Stipend:

  • Undergraduate students: CNY 2,500 per month;

  • Master’s students/general scholars: CNY 3,000 per month;

  • Doctoral students/senior scholars: CNY 3,500 per month.

Within the scholarship duration, registered scholarship students will receive a stipend from their host university each month. Students registering on or before the 15th of the month will receive a full stipend of that month. Those who register after the 15th of the month will receive a half stipend of that month. Graduating students will receive stipend until half month after the graduation date. If registered student stays out of China for more than 15 days due to a personal reason (school holidays excluded), his stipend will be stopped during his leaving.


2. Partial scholarship covers

Application Eligibility

    1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health.

    2. The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must:

  • be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for the undergraduate programs;

  • be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for the master’s programs;

  • be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for the doctoral programs;

  • be under the age of 45 and have a high school diploma (or higher) when applying for the general scholar programs;

  • be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for the senior scholar programs.

Scholarship Introduction

    In order to support development of Confucius Institutes, facilitate Chinese language promotion and Chinese cultural transmission in the world, cultivate qualified Chinese language teachers and talented students of Chinese language, Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) (hereinafter referred to as Hanban) launches the "Confucius Institute Scholarships" program for providing sponsorship to students, scholars and Chinese language teachers of other countries for pursuing a study in  relevant universities in China (here in after referred to as “host institutions).

Scholarship coverage

1. The Confucius Institute Scholarship provides full coverage on tuition fee, accommodation (Double room), living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance expenses.

2. The living allowance is granted by the host institutions on monthly basis. The allowance criteria per person are: One-Academic-Year Study, One-Semester Study: RMB2,500 per month

Chinese Language (1Month, 1 Semester or 1 Academic Year)

International Chinese Language Education (Masters)

 

Application requirements

    Application is open to applicant who owns a non-Chinese citizenship, aged between 16 and 35, in good health condition, (Applicant is currently working in a Chinese language teaching position shall not exceed the age limit of 45. Undergraduate student shall not exceed the age limit of 20)

1.Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study Students

    This category provides a sponsorship for 11 months. Application is open to Confucius Institute (Classroom) students, overseas Chinese language teachers, Chinese language major students and excellent performers in HSK test. International students who are now studying in China are not eligible for the scholarship. Applicant should have a minimum score of 180 in HSK Test (Level 3), and 60 in HSKK test (Beginner Level). Alternatively, applicant should hold a minimum score of 180 in BCT (A), and a minimum score of 180 BCT (Speaking).

2.Scholarship for One-Semester Study Students

    This category provides a sponsorship for 5 months. Applicant should have no prior experience of studying in China, but have a minimum score of 120 in HSK Test (Level 2), and a minimum score of 40 in HSKK (Beginner Level). Alternatively, applicant should have a minimum score of 100 in BCT (A), and a minimum score of 120 in BCT (Speaking).
