Tuition per  academic year in RMB

The  current tuition rates of Chinese-medium programs for international students have  remained unchanged for more than ten years since adjustments in 2001. XMU has  devoted significant amounts of resources to building a faculty of international  standing, launching a comprehensive range of academic programs with English as  the medium of instruction, and upgrading its infrastructure. Thus, the  University has adjusted its tuition rates according to the policy of the  Ministry of Education and by taking into account the tuition rates of other  higher-education institutions in China. The adjustments of the tuition fees also  reflect inflation and the rising costs of academic programs for international  students. International students enrolled from 2015 academic year and onwards  will follow new tuition rates which are to come into effect in 2015.

The costs  of studying at XMU (including tuition fees, accommodation fees and living  expenses) are lower than most other comparable Chinese and overseas  institutions. XMU offers a wide variety of scholarships to international  students, including Chinese Government Scholarships, Confucius Institute  Scholarships, Confucius China Studies Plan Fellowships, Fujian Provincial  Government Scholarships, and Xiamen University Scholarships. Full scholarships  cover tuition, accommodation, food, healthcare and insurance costs, while  partial scholarships cover one or several items covered by full scholarships.  Scholarships are awarded to approximately four hundred successful applicants  each year.
